Few Words about Arnold van West
After my hotel college training in The Hague and Amsterdam I spent a few years working in the hotel and restaurant business, filling various positions both at home and abroad. Back from the States, where I worked as a food manager on cruise ships, I started in photography. My passion for the hotel and travel branch led to photographs of hotels, restaurants, food and travel. I consider the atmosphere in my photos very important, the viewer has to be triggered, to imagine his own story to accompany them. Anyone can take a picture with modern-day digital techniques, but taking one that makes a difference is another story! On my site, I take you along on my photo journey, during which I worked with people who love their profession just as I do. Photography with a smile!
“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
“There is only you and your camera. The limitations in your photography are in yourself, for what we see is what we are.”
“Black and white are the colors of photography. They symbolize the alternatives of hope and despair to which mankind is subjected.”
